Matej Vydra's spectacular winner at Southampton has been voted the February 2020 Budweiser Goal of the Month.
The Burnley striker brought the ball down with his back to goal, touched the ball past Kyle Walker-Peters and unleashed a rising drive that flew into the top-left corner, earning the Clarets a 2-1 victory at St Mary's Stadium.
It was his first Premier League goal since September 2018, but for Vydra it was well worth the wait.
"It was 511 days, and I couldn't believe it was so long," the striker, who scored the goal after coming on as a first-half substitute following an injury to Chris Wood, said after picking up his award.
"I think it will be a special goal for me and for my memory. I waited so long for the goal, now here we are and it's Goal of the Month."
Double history-maker
Vydra has become both the first Czech player and the first Burnley player to win a Budweiser Goal of the Month award.
It completes a double for the Clarets, after Sean Dyche was named the Manager of the Month for February.
Vydra's emphatic finish was chosen by a panel of experts combined with a public vote, beating seven other contenders.
