The first day of the inaugural ePremier League Invitational tournament kicked off, with four players reaching the last 16 after winning their EA SPORTS FIFA 20 matches.
The action started with Brighton & Hove Albion's Neal Maupay winning 6-1 against John McGinn of Aston Villa, with two of the goals scored by himself.
In the second tie, singer-songwriter Josh Franceschi, from the band You Me At Six, saw off a comeback from Watford's Nathaniel Chalobah to win 4-3 for his beloved Arsenal.
It was a similar affair in the third match as Dwight McNeil beat West Ham United's Ryan Fredericks 3-2, thanks to a late goal by the winger himself for Burnley.
And local pride went to AFC Bournemouth midfielder Philip Billing as he earned an impressive 4-0 victory over Southampton goalkeeper Angus Gunn in a south-coast derby.
