Wolverhampton Wanderers v Everton

Wolverhampton Wanderers reclaimed sixth place from Sheffield United with a 3-0 victory over Everton at Molineux Stadium.

Daniel Podence, making his first Premier League start, forced Jordan Pickford into a low save on 26 minutes.

And it was Podence who helped Wolves make the breakthrough on the verge of half-time, winning a penalty that was dispatched by Raul Jimenez for his 16th goal of the season.

Leander Dendoncker doubled the hosts' lead less than a minute after the break, heading in Pedro Neto's free-kick.

Substitute Diogo Jota confirmed a first win in three matches for Wolves 16 minutes from time, latching on to Ruben Neves's superb long pass to score.

Adama Traore hit the crossbar of an open goal late on as Nuno Espirito Santo's side move to 55 points, three behind fifth-placed Manchester United.

Everton stay 11th with 45 points from 35 matches.
