Over 678,000 managers brought in Jesse Lingard (£6.1m) for Blank Gameweek 29 in Fantasy Premier League.
And the West Ham United midfielder justified their decision with a goal and an assist at home against Arsenal.
The on-loan star also picked up two bonus points, totalling 12 points in Fantasy.
Lingard has now produced three double-figure scores in his seven appearances for the Hammers.
His average of 8.0 points per match is more than any other player in Fantasy this season.
Lingard scores v Arsenal
West Ham forward Michail Antonio (£6.7m) also extended his strong second half to the season on Sunday.
The forward provided two assists to claim seven points in the 3-3 draw.
All five of Antonio’s assists, and four of his seven goals, have come from Gameweek 19 onwards.
Lacazette continues to impress
Alexandre Lacazette (£8.2m) was the standout performer for Arsenal.
Handed the lone striker role for the third time in four Gameweeks, the Frenchman produced a goal, an assist and 11 points in Fantasy.
Lacazette has scored in each of his last three starts and has the schedule to continue his run of returns.
The Gunners face two of the bottom three sides in the Premier League, Sheffield United and Fulham, in the next three Gameweeks.
Managers rue recruiting Bale
Sunday’s second match was a huge disappointment for managers who brought in Gareth Bale (£9.7m).
The only player to earn more transfers in than Lingard, the Tottenham Hotspur midfielder had 771,000 new owners for his trip to Aston Villa.
But Bale was an unused substitute in the 2-0 win for Jose Mourinho’s side, raising big question marks over his starting role once again.
Instead, it was Lucas Moura (£6.6m) who emerged as Spurs’ top-scoring player in Gameweek 29.
He provided the assist when Carlos Vinicius (£6.9m) scored and also earned three bonus, totalling a nine-point return.
Lucas has now produced attacking returns in four of his last five starts, claiming 32 points in those matches.
Captain fantastic
Spurs forward Harry Kane (£11.6m) justified his status as the most-selected captain in the Gameweek by scoring his 17th goal of the season.
A seven-point haul took him to 191 points for the campaign, with nine matches still remaining for Spurs.
That equals Kane's points total from 2014/15, his joint fourth-best score in his FPL career.
