Man City 2-0 Watford

Goals from Pablo Zabaleta and David Silva helped Manchester City return to winning ways against Watford at Etihad Stadium.

Pep Guardiola's side controlled the early stages and went close to taking the lead but both Kevin de Bruyne and Nolito were thwarted by Heurelho Gomes.

After Zabaleta's first Premier League goal of the season, City stepped up the tempo, despite losing Ilkay Gundogan to injury, as Raheem Sterling saw a superb effort hit the crossbar.

Watford's best chance fell to Etienne Capoue, who was denied at close range by Claudio Bravo.

Silva added a second late on to claim the points for Man City, who also ended a run of back-to-back Premier League defeats.
