For Thierry Henry, Patrick Vieira's leadership skills and ability to quickly turn defence into attack make him more than worthy of a place next to him in the Premier League Hall of Fame.
Henry is one of the inaugural Hall of Fame inductees alongside Alan Shearer. And, with fans able to vote in six more players, the legendary Gunners forward has highlighted the credentials of his captain.
"I used to joke about it but I think it's possible Patrick could play alone in midfield," says Henry. "I have never seen [before] a guy stopping a team going to attack you, and suddenly it's a counter-attack.
"Whenever Patrick was going to go and get the ball, I am already moving, moving away from my defenders because I knew he was going to get the ball back."
With Vieira wearing the armband, Arsenal won the 2003/04 title without losing a single match, being dubbed "The Invincibles".
"His leadership was second to none," Henry adds. "The way he used to speak to us in training, the way he used to speak to us at half-time or in the game, he was always calm with it.
"I know it didn't look like it but it was always calm. It was like it was so easy for him to play at times and to lead us. He was an easy guy to follow, and what a football player he was for the club."
