Iconic Dutch forward Bergkamp is one of six players from a 23-man shortlist to receive the most combined votes from fans and a Premier League Panel.
"Every day in training, he wanted to be the best," says Henry. "He was pushing everyone's boundaries because of the way he was in training. First in the building, last out."
As for Henry's fellow inaugural inductee Alan Shearer, it was Bergkamp's technical ability that marked him out as a special player.
"It looked at times too easy for some of these guys," says Shearer. "Dennis was one of those. The touch and the technique was ridiculous."
