A first ePremier League trophy for Norwich City was not on the cards when the 2021/22 Grand Finals began but the Canaries believed that victory over Brentford in the final summed up two days of stunning results.

Norwich went the whole weekend unbeaten, scoring a remarkable 36 goals across seven matches as favourites such as Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool fell by the wayside.

When asked if their triumph was a surprise, Norwich's Xbox player Damian Augustyniak said: "Yes, 100 per cent. Most people felt we would finish at best third in our group. But to go through that group in first and win the whole event unbeaten, it feels really good."

Augustyniak delivered a 3-1 first-leg lead on Xbox for Norwich in the final as his unorthodox 3-5-2 formation posed problems for Brentford's SamBrwster as it did for all opponents.

GoalPoacher_ continued Norwich's dominance in the second leg on PS5, making it 4-1 on aggregate against Czohino before Cristiano Ronaldo went through on goal in stoppage time to add gloss to the final score and seal a first ePL trophy for Norwich.

Victory against the newcomers Brentford meant the Canaries pair claim £30,000 in prize money.

For Augustyniak, it was his biggest success so far in esports and especially important as he thinks he won't be able to defend the trophy next year.

"It's a crazy feeling," he said. "I think this will be my last ePremier League as I am moving back to Poland this summer so I wanted people to remember me [by this]."
