Chelsea close to deal for Mudryk

Chelsea have announced they are close to agreeing a deal with Shakhtar Donetsk for the winger Mykhailo Mudryk.

"Chelsea are discussing terms with Shakhtar Donetsk for the transfer of Mykhailo Mudryk," a statement on the Chelsea website said.

"Should a deal be agreed between the two clubs then the Ukrainian international, who can operate as a winger or a forward, will discuss personal terms with the Blues ahead of a permanent transfer."

If Mudryk, 22, does sign, he will become Chelsea's fifth senior signing of the January transfer window.
