Podence has emerged as a key figure for Wolverhampton Wanderers since the appointment of Julen Lopetegui in Gameweek 17.
He has scored three of their four goals under the Spaniard, netting against Everton, Aston Villa and West Ham United to claim 24 points.
That fares well when assessed against his previous displays.
Indeed, the 27-year-old managed only two goals and an assist in the first 16 Gameweeks, last scoring in Gameweek 6 against Southampton.
The underlying statistics highlight the all-round influence of Podence on Lopetegui's Wolves.
His eight shots in the box and four shots on target are both team-leading totals since the season resumed, while his nine shots and five chances created both place second.
Leaky defence
Liverpool, meanwhile, are expected to be without injured centre-backs Virgil van Dijk (£6.5m) and Ibrahima Konate (£4.8m) at Molineux.
The Reds have been in poor defensive form on their travels this term, managing only a single away clean sheet.
And they have conceded three goals to Brentford and Brighton & Hove Albion in their previous two on the road.
Podence has the form to exploit Liverpool's frailties in defence and establish himself as the go-to Wolves pick under Lopetegui.
