The visitors made the perfect start in Ryan Mason's first match of his second spell as Spurs head coach, with Jadon Sancho producing an excellent curling effort to open the scoring on seven minutes after being set up by Marcus Rashford.

Ivan Perisic missed a good opportunity to level for Spurs before Rashford ruthlessly doubled Man Utd's lead with his 16th Premier League goal of the season, lashing the ball into the roof of the net after being played in by Bruno Fernandes.

Spurs got themselves back into the contest in the second half when Porro showed excellent composure to place the ball into the top corner after Harry Kane's initial effort was blocked.

Son then made it 2-2 with 11 minutes remaining, finishing at the far post from Kane's pass to score for a fourth successive home match.

The draw leaves Man Utd in fourth on 60 points, six clear of fifth-placed Spurs having played two matches fewer.

The visitors took the lead when Callum Wilson tapped into an empty net after Jordan Pickford had parried Joelinton’s initial shot.

Pickford then produced an outstanding save to deny Joe Willock a second goal midway through the second half.

It didn’t prove to be a decisive stop though as Joelinton headed in from close range after being set up by Willock.

Wilson then capped off a superb performance with an outstanding curling effort.

That was his 13th Premier League goal of the season, the most any Newcastle player has scored in a campaign for nine years.

Everton netted a consolation through Dwight McNeil when his corner went all the way through Newcastle’s box.

But less than a minute later, substitute Jacob Murphy slotted in after some incredible build-up play from fellow sub Alexander Isak.

The victory for Newcastle was their biggest in 90 years at Everton and puts them on to 62 points, eight more than Spurs in fifth with a match in hand.

the Toffees drop to 19th and are two points from safety.
