More than 7.1million Fantasy Premier League managers have captained Erling Haaland (£14.0m) for Gameweek 3, the third-highest total on record.

Manchester City travel to Sheffield United on Sunday following a 1-0 win over Newcastle United last time out.

Encouragingly for his backers, Haaland has averaged 9.2 points per start against promoted sides, including a 13-point haul at Burnley in the opening match of 2023/24 Fantasy.

An additional 196,481 have used their Triple Captain chip on the Norwegian, meaning a record 78.2 per cent of all managers in Fantasy have backed Haaland with either armband.

Over 258,000 managers turned to Bukayo Saka (£8.6m) as their differential captain for Arsenal's home encounter with Fulham on Saturday, and he converted a penalty to deliver eight points.

Mohamed Salah (£12.5m) completes the top three captain selections.

The Egyptian, who outscored Haaland in Gameweek 2 by five points to two, has notched back-to-back returns in Fantasy and places joint-second among midfielders for shots this season, with eight.

Liverpool visit Newcastle in the final match of Gameweek 3 on Sunday.
