The meeting features the League’s biggest spenders, in Chelsea, facing one of the lowest, while there could also be a familiar face returning to Stamford Bridge.

Former Blues midfielder Ross Barkley may return to the Bridge for the first time since his contract expired at the end of the 2021/22 campaign. Following a season at Nice in Ligue 1, the midfielder joined Luton this summer.

Chelsea lost 3-1 to West Ham United in Matchweek 2, when Enzo Fernandez missed a penalty with the score at 1-1 and Moises Caicedo then conceded a spot-kick in second-half stoppage time.

Due to redevelopment of their stadium, Luton have only played once this season, a 4-1 defeat at Brighton and Hove Albion in Matchweek 1.
