Dean Henderson has joined Crystal Palace from Manchester United.

The 26-year-old goalkeeper signs a five-year contract with Palace as he ends his 12-year stay with Man Utd.

"I’m absolutely delighted and buzzing to be here. I can’t wait to get started," Henderson told the club's official website.

"This club has got great fans and has a lot of top players who are hungry to succeed. There’s something being built here, and I really want to be a part of it."

Between 2016 and 2018 Henderson had loan spells at Stockport County, Grimsby Town and Shrewsbury Town in the lower leagues, before moving to then Championship side Sheffield United. He helped the Blades to promotion that season and stayed on loan with them for the next season back in the Premier League.

In his first taste of Premier League football in 2019/20, he kept 13 clean sheets, making 97 saves as Chris Wilder’s side finished ninth.

Upon returning to Man Utd, Henderson saw playing time hard to come by, as he primarily acted as back-up to David De Gea.

As a result, Henderson went on loan to Nottingham Forest in 2022/23, before a thigh injury this January cut his season short.

Henderson arrives in southeast London as Palace’s third senior summer addition and is competing with Sam Johnstone for a place between the posts, with last season's No 1 Vicente Guaita yet to feature in a matchday squad this campaign and linked with a move away.

He could make his Palace debut this Sunday at home to Wolverhampton Wanderers.
