A visit to Wolverhampton Wanderers gives Ollie Watkins (£8.0m) the opportunity to reward his huge number of new owners in Fantasy Premier League.

The Aston Villa forward is the second most-bought player in Gameweek 8, earning 675,000+ transfers in on the back of his career-high 23 points against Brighton & Hove Albion last weekend.

Watkins takes his place in a 3-4-3 formation, with Son Heung-min (£9.3m) handed the armband and Mohamed Salah (£12.6m) named vice-captain.

Scout Selection GW8
Bernd Leno (Fulham) £4.7m

Three clean sheets, seven save points and eight bonus have taken the Fulham No 1 to the top of the goalkeeper standings on 36 points. Leno hosts a Sheffield United side who have scored only once in their last three matches.

Pedro Porro (Spurs) £5.0m

Tottenham Hotspur’s right-back visits Luton Town on the back of two assists and two clean sheets in six appearances. Porro has bettered his fellow Spurs full-back Destiny Udogie (£4.8m) by nine shots to one, and by 10 key passes to six, across that run.

Thiago Silva (Chelsea) £5.0m

Chelsea’s Brazilian has amassed 14 points in his last two road trips, thanks to two clean sheets and two bonus points. Thiago Silva also offers a set-piece threat against a Burnley side who have conceded 31 shots in such situations, the fifth-worst record in the league.

James Tarkowski (Everton) £4.4m

The centre-back’s aerial threat at free-kicks and corners could be a major weapon for Everton at home to AFC Bournemouth. Tarkowski scored from a set-piece in Gameweek 6 at Brentford, claiming a 14-point return.

Mohamed Salah (Liverpool) £12.6m

Liverpool’s visit to Brighton & Hove Albion lifts the appeal of their talisman as a captain alternative to Erling Haaland (£14.1m) in Gameweek 8. Salah has only one blank this season and faces a Seagulls side who conceded six goals at Aston Villa last weekend.

Son Heung-min (Spurs) £9.3m

A move up front for Spurs has made Son a must-have for Fantasy managers, and a big armband rival to Haaland in the coming weeks. Son has delivered 43 points in the last four Gameweeks in his new role as a forward, more than any other player in the game.

James Maddison (Spurs) £8.0m

The playmaker has emerged as a key figure in his first season at Spurs, soaring to over 33 per cent ownership in Fantasy. Maddison has produced all his attacking returns in 2023/24 on the road, averaging 8.8 points per away match thanks to two goals and four assists.

Pedro Neto (Wolves) £5.7m

The Wolves winger hosts Villa in the most consistent form of his Fantasy career. Neto has produced attacking returns in each of the last five Gameweeks, earning 35 points thanks to one goal and five assists.

Erling Haaland (Man City) £14.1m

Man City’s talisman has frustrated his owners with only one double-figure haul in six matches ahead of his trip to Arsenal. Yet Haaland’s total of eight big chances in the last three Gameweeks is twice the number of any other player, underlining his peerless potential for goals.

Ollie Watkins (Aston Villa) £8.0m

He has proven one of the most consistent picks in the first seven Gameweeks, blanking only once on his way to the top of the player standings on 54 points.

Rasmus Hojlund (Man Utd) £7.1m

The Dane has been supplied with all four of Manchester United’s big chances since his first start of the season in Gameweek 5. Hojlund entertains Brentford on the back of two goals in the UEFA Champions League in midweek.
