Bruno Fernandes has equalled the record for the most Budweiser Goal of the Month awards after claiming the September 2023 prize for his sublime volleyed winner against Burnley.

It's the third time the Manchester United midfielder has claimed the award, putting him level with new Luton Town signing Andros Townsend.

Fernandes made a clever run in behind the Burnley defence and produced a sensational first-time strike from Jonny Evans's long pass into the bottom corner.

The 29-year-old first won the award in June 2020 for his strike at Brighton & Hove Albion, before taking the prize for a second time in February 2021 after scoring with a stunning chip against Everton.

It marks the seventh time a Man Utd player has won the Budweiser Goal of the Month award, meaning United players have won the prize more times than those from any other club.

The Portugal international moves above an exclusive club of two-time winners, which includes Kevin De Bruyne, Mohamed Salah, Son Heung-min and Miguel Almiron.

Fernandes's goal was chosen as the winner by a panel of experts combined with a public vote, beating seven other contenders.
