On paper, Erling Haaland (£14.0m) is the best captaincy option. However, I fancy James Maddison (£8.1m) against Fulham. Maddison's 25 chances created this season is more than any other midfielder and Marco Silva's side have conceded 32 attempts from set-pieces, which Maddison will take.

I'm backing Son Heung-min (£9.5m) as Fulham have been poor this season and should have conceded a lot more goals than they have.

Haaland and Mohamed Salah (£12.7m) are both great options this week. Haaland's fixture is tougher on paper, but Brighton & Hove Albion do give chances away and are unlikely to defend deep like Everton will.

Despite blanking in Gameweek 8 and a long trip to South Korea over the international break, I will be sticking with Son as my captain. He'll have been back for almost a week by the time Tottenham Hotspur play on Monday evening.

Haaland, Son and Salah all have good fixtures and I'm still undecided if I will back the Manchester City forward or the Spurs captain. Son arguably has the better fixture, but Haaland is more likely to play the full 90 minutes.

To me, Haaland is the standout pick this week. Son is also an option, but if he is only playing 70 minutes, then I prefer Haaland.
Mark McGettigan (@FPLGeneral)
Haaland has been my captain in every Gameweek so far and that's not going to change in Gameweek 9. If I didn't own Haaland, but did have Salah, the Liverpool midfielder would get my armband.
