Aston Villa keep going from strength to strength under Unai Emery, and one player who has typified their incredible start to the season is Douglas Luiz.
The Brazilian produced another outstanding display in midfield against West Ham United on Sunday as his double helped Villa to an impressive 4-1 win.
As a result, Douglas Luiz is one of three Villa players in the Team of the Week selected by Alan Shearer, the Premier League's record goalscorer and Hall of Fame inductee.
Nick Pope (Newcastle)
“Made a couple of impressive saves late on to keep another clean sheet. The 4-0 scoreline against Palace didn’t reflect his contribution.”
Kieran Trippier (Newcastle)
“No one in the Premier League has more assists this season. His final ball has been top-quality.”
John Stones (Man City)
“Again, slotted into midfield with ease, showed class on the ball, and he really put himself about in the middle of the park.”
Ezri Konsa (Aston Villa)
“Played a great game. He was solid at the back and even managed to win a penalty for his side."
Jacob Murphy (Newcastle)
”An absolute threat down that right-hand side, with two assists and a goal."
Douglas Luiz (Aston Villa)
“Two goals in a dominant display. He really led his team well. He's been laying the foundations for Villa's success this season."

James Maddison (Spurs)
”He’s made a brilliant start at Spurs. Bossed the midfield again and weighed in with his first goal at home too."
Son Heung-min (Spurs)
“Relishing his role as captain this season. He added another great strike to add to his collection, making it seven goals already for the campaign."
Mohamed Salah (Liverpool)
”Not his best game but still two goals. It's impossible to keep him quiet for a whole match."
Chris Wood (Nott'm Forest)
“Led the line well with two goals, and so nearly a hat trick. This is the type of performance Forest will be needing from their forward.”
Ollie Watkins (Aston Villa)
”What a start to the season! His latest goal and assist won’t do his England chances any harm.”
Manager: Unai Emery (Aston Villa)
“West Ham can be tough opponents, but Villa made light work of them. They look so dangerous, especially at home."
