Why the players were nominated
Luca Barrington: The 18-year-old played a starring role in Brighton & Hove Albion's victory against Aston Villa as he provided two assists in a 2-1 success. Barrington joined the club from Manchester City in August 2022 and has continued his fine progression this season after producing six goals and eight assists in 24 PL2 matches in 2022/23.
Joe Hugill: Having twice been included in the Manchester United senior team during pre-season, and even getting on the scoresheet against Leeds United in July of this year, Hugill is going from strength to strength and netted twice for the Red Devils in their 3-1 victory over Everton in PL2 last month.
Will Lankshear: Since signing from Sheffield United in the summer of 2022, Lankshear has become a key member of the Spurs Under-21 side that sit at the top of PL2. It was another month to remember for the locally born Lankshear, scoring an injury-time winner in a seven-goal thriller at Norwich City.
Callum Marshall: West Ham are flying in PL2, sat second only to Spurs having scored the third-most goals in the division, and Marshall is a big reason why. The striker, who has already made his senior debut for Northern Ireland, has continued his scoring form into November, netting a brace away to Liverpool, making it an impressive 15 goals from the opening nine matches.
Ademola Ola-Adebomi: Ola-Adebomi, who joined Crystal Palace's ranks in 2012 at the age of eight, hit a hat-trick in a 7-1 win over Leeds, and has seen his performances for the U21s rewarded with a place among the senior team's substitutes against Man Utd and Nottingham Forest.
Semir Telalovic: Although Blackburn Rovers may not have had the best start to the 2023/24 PL2 campaign, Bosnian-born Telalovic has continued to shine, scoring all three goals in Rovers' 6-3 home defeat to Stoke City.
Emre Tezgel: Having become Stoke's youngest-ever player in January of last year, Tezgel has developed a reputation as one of the country's most exciting young forwards. A regular for England at U16 and U17 level, Tezgel impressed in November, scoring twice in the Potters' 6-3 win over Blackburn.
Jack Wells-Morrison: Truly one of their own, locally born Wells-Morrison has consistently stood out at U21 level, earning a PL2 Player of the Season nomination in 2022/23, and he has continued into this season, scoring twice in Palace's 7-1 victory at Leeds.
