How the match unfolded
Everton made a bright start at Turf Moor on Dyche's return to the club where he spent 10 years in charge.
The Toffees came closest to opening the scoring in the 18th minute when James Trafford made a brilliant save from Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s header.
But the Toffees did take the lead a minute later through Onana.
The Everton midfielder rose highest to head in from Dwight McNeil’s corner at the back post.
Former Burnley centre-back Keane added to the home side's woes by doubling Everton's advantage six minutes later. Keane’s initial strike from just inside the penalty area was saved by Trafford, but the ball ricocheted back to the defender, who slotted into the bottom corner.
Burnley almost pulled a goal back in first-half added time, but a crucial sliding interception from Ben Godfrey stopped Zeki Amdouni from tapping the ball into an empty net.
Lyle Foster was brought on at half-time by Vincent Kompany as the forward made his first appearance since October after receiving help for mental health issues.
Dyche’s side continued to be a threat from set-pieces in the second half, with Keane striking against a post from James Garner's corner.
Amdouni went close for the home side as they looked to get back into the contest, but his long-range effort was well saved by Jordan Pickford.
Sander Berge came closest to scoring for Burnley, smashing a first-time effort against the crossbar with 10 minutes remaining.
Everton move up to 16th with 16 points. Burnley remain in 19th on eight points.
