Pep Guardiola has given an update on the fitness of Erling Haaland, Kevin De Bruyne and Jeremy Doku, saying he is unsure if the trio will be fit for Manchester City's next Premier League match, at Newcastle United on Saturday 13 January.
All three have returned to training, while De Bruyne was an unused substitute in Man City's victory against Sheffield United last time out, returning to the squad for the first time since sustaining an injury on the opening weekend.
“They are ready, the last two or three training sessions with us,” Guardiola told the club's website ahead of their FA Cup third-round tie with Huddersfield Town on Sunday.
“Jeremy feels really good, Kevin as well.
“Kevin was a long time [out] so we have to think about his condition. We have to be patient and exactly give him the right minutes.
“Erling is a little better, his bone so we need to be careful. [he’s had] two or three sessions and feels good.
“Hopefully [they will be able to play soon but], I don’t know for Sunday or for Newcastle, but for the rest they will be ready.”
Guardiola also gave an update on John Stones, who suffered another injury setback after being withdrawn in the first half against Everton on 27 December.
“He’s not training with us,” he said. "He’s getting better but not training with us. I don’t know [when he’s back].”
