The Scout's panel of Fantasy Premier League experts give their thoughts on who to captain in Gameweek 22 ahead of the deadline at 18:00 GMT on Tuesday 30 January.
What the experts say
Sam Bonfield (@FPLFamily)
There will be a lot of different choices as there isn't a standout pick. Manchester City are the most logical place to look and even though Kevin De Bruyne (£10.6m) is at risk of not starting, he will come in and wear the armband. James Maddison (£7.8m) could be a great differential for the eight per cent of managers who still own him. He picked up two assists against Brentford in the reverse fixture in Gameweek 1.
Pranil Sheth (@Lateriser12)
I've enjoyed having captains against Burnley this season. I'll likely be captaining Phil Foden (£8.0m) as he's looked very dangerous in central positions.
Ben Crabtree (@FC_CrabDogg)
De Bruyne is very tempting but he's likely to only play an hour. The match could get away from Burnley and mean there's a number of goals after this, therefore I'm going for Foden.
Nick Harris (@WGTA_Nick)
I'm looking at De Bruyne as an option this week. Man City have the optimal fixture at home to Burnley and I can see him hauling against them, even if his minutes are managed.
Gianni Buttice (@GianniButtice)
Man City clearly have the highest upside and for that reason I will be captaining Foden, who is arguably playing the best football we have seen from him.
Pras (@Pras_FPL)
There is no perfect captain this week. All the Man City guys come with a slight minutes or positional risk. I am therefore leaning towards Richarlison (£7.0m). Playing up top, likely on penalties, at home. It feels like as good a choice as any.
Harry Daniels (@FPL_Harry)
Currently the armband is on Julian Alvarez (£7.0m). With it looking unlikely that Erling Haaland (£13.9m) will start against Burnley, I will favour the Argentinian instead.
