Why the players are nominated
Todd Alcock: The 19-year-old midfielder provided a pair of assists in the 4-0 win over Middlesbrough and started all three matches in an unbeaten month for Aston Villa.
Leo Castledine: Castledine, son of former Wimbledon midfielder Stewart, scored in all three of Chelsea's matches. The 18-year-old also provided an assist in a 3-1 win at Middlesbrough as the Blues extended their winning streak in PL2 to five matches.
Leon Chiwome: The 18-year-old Wolverhampton Wanderers forward scored a double in the 3-0 win over local rivals West Bromwich Albion.
Jayden Danns: It was a month to remember for the 18-year-old Liverpool forward, who provided assists in PL2 victories over Stoke City and Newcastle United before making his mark in the first team. Danns made his Premier League debut as a substitute in the 4-1 win over Luton Town and then came off the bench in Sunday's 1-0 victory over Chelsea in the EFL Cup final, before scoring his first senior goals as he struck twice in Wednesday's 3-0 FA Cup triumph over Southampton at Anfield.
Zak Gilsenan: The Republic of Ireland Under-21 international was on target in a 2-1 victory at Fulham before scoring twice in a 3-1 win against Derby County.
Brodi Hughes: The 19-year-old defender was part of a Chelsea backline that only conceded one goal across their three victories during the month.
Jamaldeen Jimoh-Aloba: No other player on the shortlist could match Jimoh-Aloba's five goal involvements. The 17-year-old followed his two assists against Everton with two goals in the 4-0 success over Middlesbrough. He rounded the month off with another assist in a 2-2 draw with Stoke.
Ronnie Stutter: Like his Chelsea team-mate Castledine, 19-year-old Stutter netted in all three of the Blues' wins, against West Ham United, Leeds United and Middlesbrough.
