There was early agony for more than half a million Fantasy Premier League managers who were following Saturday’s Premier League matches.
Some 561,392 managers had transferred in Brentford’s Sergio Reguilon (£4.4m) for Blank Gameweek 29, in the hope of a return against Burnley.
Instead, the Spaniard pushed over Burnley’s Vitinho (£4.4.m) to concede a penalty and earn a red card in the ninth minute.
Reguilon was a popular pick for managers as Brentford are one of only eight teams in Premier League action this weekend because of postponements due to the FA Cup quarter-finals.
As a result, some 1.7million managers have played their Free Hit chip to reset their teams for one Gameweek.
But now Reguilon's owners have to swallow a -3pts hit as well as losing the clean sheet if they owned any other Brentford defensive assets.
The misery only continued for managers who had transferred in defenders.
The second most-bought defender of the Gameweek, Luton Town's Alfie Doughty (£4.7m) was brought in by 1.16m managers and conceded a first-half goal against Nottingham Forest before going off at half-time, finishing with one point in FPL.
The fourth most-bought defender was Mads Roerslev (£4.4m), who was added to 565,451 squads and conceded the early goal before departing injured in the 58th minute, getting only one point.
