Aston Villa have confirmed Ross Barkley will join the club from Championship side Luton Town.

However, Barkley will remain in the top flight as part of Unai Emery’s squad, who will take part in the UEFA Champions League this season for the first time in the club's history.
This will be the England international's second stint at Villa, after spending the 2020/21 campaign on loan from Chelsea. During that season, he registered three goals and one assist over 24 league appearances.
Barkley is relishing his top-flight return, as well as the opportunity to play in front of the fans at Villa Park.
"The last time I came, I didn’t play in front of the fans, so I’m looking forward to that," he told the club's official website.
“The atmosphere [at Villa Park] is great, so I’m looking forward to that as well as the Champions League nights. It’s been a long time since the club were in the Champions League, so it’s going to be a massive season."
"Playing at Villa Park again, in front of the fans, I'm excited for that." 🙌
