In Fantasy Premier League, managers have grown accustomed to seeing their player points locked in and confirmed one hour after the final match on any given day.
But in 2024/25, that will no longer be the case.
As of this season, all points are only final approximately one hour after the LAST MATCH of the Gameweek, meaning points and bonus points earned on a previous day are subject to change.
How the changes could work
Say, for example, that Manchester United beat Fulham 1-0 in the opening match of Gameweek 1 and the goal is initially accredited as an own goal, but the scorer of that goal is changed to Bruno Fernandes after an appeal the following day.
Previously, nothing would have changed in FPL as the points would have been locked in at around 23:00 BST on Friday - roughly an hour after full-time at Old Trafford.
Now, however, Fernandes would be credited with the goal in FPL. Any necessary tweaks to the Bonus Points System (BPS) would then be made, too.
It's worth reiterating that any points changes will only happen until, as the rules say, the "last day of the Gameweek has been marked as final".
In the case of Gameweek 1, that would be around 23:00 BST on Monday, around an hour after full-time of the Leicester City v Tottenham Hotspur match.
So, back to our example, if Fernandes is accredited with the goal AFTER that stage, it wouldn't be reflected in FPL.
What the rules say
“Data is supplied by Opta and will not be changed after the last day of the Gameweek has been marked as final. We will not enter into discussion around any of the statistics used to calculate this score for any individual match."
