With Fantasy Premier League managers facing several difficult decisions on who to buy, keep or sell ahead of the Gameweek 2 deadline on Saturday 24 August at 11:00 BST, some of the world's top Fantasy managers offer their advice.

This can also be useful for those FPL bosses who are starting in Gameweek 2 and are currently picking their squad.

Cole Palmer (Chelsea) £10.5m

Oscar (@FPLFocal): Facing Man City in Gameweek 1 was always going to be a difficult fixture, on top of only having 45 pre-season minutes under his belt. Chelsea have a run of solid fixtures on the horizon now, so I'd stay patient with Palmer and give him at least a couple Gameweeks before reassessing.

Verdict: Keep

Son Heung-min (Spurs) £10.0m

Sam Bonfield (@FPLFamily): With Ashley Young (£4.5m) suspended in Gameweek 2, Son would be a hold for me. Son was very wide in the game against Leicester on Monday evening, managing just one shot and creating two chances. However, against a shaky Everton defence without Young, I expect a lot of the Spurs attacks to come down his side on Saturday. I'd hold Son for one more game, although if I was buying a Spurs player, I would look at the cheaper options in either James Maddison (£7.5m) or Dominic Solanke (£7.5m).

Verdict: Keep

Phil Foden (Man City) £9.5m

Ben Crabtree (@FC_CrabDogg): Foden is a buy. After 45 minutes as a substitute against Chelsea due to another right-wing injury, he's likely to start against Ipswich. At £9.5m, he's one of the cheaper premium midfielders and it's always felt just a matter of time before he's in our squads. The difficulty is finding the funds.

Verdict: Buy

Ollie Watkins (Aston Villa) £9.0m

Holly Shand (@HollyShand): If you were one of the 33 per cent of managers who backed Watkins in Gameweek 1, he should remain a hold, despite playing only 61 minutes against West Ham. His game time was far from guaranteed over the opening weekend, having played no part in pre-season, but he's now had his opportunity to get up to speed. Expect normal service to resume from Gameweek 2 for the player who produced the most goal involvements last season, with a favourable run of fixtures through Gameweeks 3-6.

Verdict: Keep

Anthony Gordon (Newcastle) £7.5m

Az Phillips (@FPLBlackBox_Az): I was underwhelmed with Gordon's performance against Southampton. However, it's difficult to judge him as he regains match fitness and played for a team who had 10 men for the majority of the match. With the easier home fixture out the way, I wouldn't be rushing to buy Gordon, but I think he's a hold for the next two matches. He should have chances against both AFC Bournemouth and Spurs, and it feels a bit too reactive to move him out so quickly. In Gameweek 4, moving for one of the £6.5m assets in Kaoru Mitoma (£6.5m) Alejandro Garnacho (£6.5m) or Leon Bailey (£6.5m) might be an option to free up some funds and use them elsewhere.

Verdict: Keep

Christopher Nkunku (Chelsea) £6.5m

Nick Harris (@WGTA_Nick): Nkunku is a hold for now. Owners didn't get him for the City game, but for his run of fixtures of Wolves, Crystal Palace, Bournemouth, West Ham, Brighton and Nottingham Forest over the next six Gameweeks. However, his minutes, having been replaced before the hour-mark, and his position on the pitch remain a concern, as he looked misplaced and out of sorts out on the wing.

Verdict: Keep

Joao Pedro (Brighton) £5.5m

Mark McGettigan (@FPLGeneral): It was disappointing to see him blank in Gameweek 1, but he did hit the post! It's best to give him the Manchester United fixture, save the transfer, and then reassess with another week of data ahead of the Arsenal fixture in Gameweek 3.

Verdict: Keep

Jarell Quansah (Liverpool) £4.4m

Lee Bonfield (@FPLFamily): With Arne Slot criticising Quansah's ability to win duels before substituting the centre-back at half-time, the uncertainty around rotation some FPL managers feared before Gameweek 1 was there for all to see. For certain opposition, Quansah's better on the ball than Konate, but against teams that are strong in aerial duels (such as Brentford in Gameweek 2), I'd now expect Ibrahima Konate (£5.0m) to get the nod. If you want certainty of starts, Quansah is a sell now.

Verdict: Sell

Valentin Barco (Brighton) £4.0m

Pras (@Pras_FPL): Despite not featuring at all in Gameweek 1, he showed enough glimpses in pre-season to get back into the starting XI. This isn't the time to be using transfers on a fifth defender, plus he has a couple of tougher upcoming fixtures versus Man Utd and Arsenal. I'd hold and reassess in Gameweek 4.

Verdict: Keep
