Liverpool head coach Arne Slot has revealed goalkeeper Alisson is an injury doubt for Saturday's match against AFC Bournemouth due to muscle injury.
Alisson, 31, has played every minute so far this season, including Tuesday night's 3-1 UEFA Champions League win at AC Milan. If he is ruled out, Caoimhin Kelleher is likely to deputise in goal.
“Alisson is a doubt," Liverpool boss Slot revealed in his pre-match press conference on Friday.
“He has a slight issue with one of his muscles, and we wonder if this game is coming too early or not.
“I think he didn’t take it from the Milan game, it happened a bit before, but after he felt more and more. Now we have to wait and see if he’s ready to be in goal tomorrow or we have to wait a few extra days.”
Impact of losing Alisson
Alisson has conceded only two goals in five games so far this season for Liverpool in all competitions, keeping three clean sheets. Only Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya can boast a better record, conceding only once over the same number of matches.
But interestingly, Liverpool have actually fared better without Alisson since he joined the Reds in 2018.
Liverpool's win percentage when he doesn't start climbs from 66.3 per cent to almost 75 per cent.
