Southampton have signed Brazilian left-back Welington.
The 23-year-old finalised personal terms with Saints during the summer but remained with Sao Paulo until the conclusion of the Brazilian season.
Who is Welington?
A versatile player, Welington has featured predominantly as a defender but has also played on the left side of midfield.
Over the course of his career at Sao Paulo, he made 164 appearances, helping the club secure the Copa do Brasil in 2023 and the Supercopa do Brasil in 2024.
The defender will wear the No 34 shirt at St Mary's.
Southampton are next in action when they host Brentford on Saturday.
