Aston Villa have signed right-back Andres Garcia from Spanish side Levante.
The 21-year-old is Villa's second signing of the winter transfer window, following the arrival of Dutch winger Donyell Malen from Borussia Dortmund.
Who is Andres Garcia?
Garcia, born on 7 February 2003 in Valencia, Spain, began his career at Inter San Jose, later joining Levante in 2021, playing for their youth side Torre Levante in 2020/21.
He made his first appearance for their B team on 10 September 2022, following up with his full senior debut a few months later on 3 January 2023, when he came on as a late substitute in a 3–2 home win over Getafe CF.
This season, Garcia has started 22 matches in LaLiga 2, contributing three goals and three assists, helping Levante climb to fourth place in the table.
The full-back netted in the club's last match of 2024, their 1-1 draw with SD Huesca, and their first match of 2025, as they won 3-0 at CD Tenerife.
Villa have been keen to add an extra layer of depth and cover to their defence which has been missing injured duo Pau Torres and Diego Carlos.
Garcia could feature in the Premier League for the first time on Sunday 26 January when Villa host West Ham United.
