As Liverpool attempt to become just the fifth team in English top-flight history to go an entire season unbeaten away from home, Opta Analyst's Oliver Hopkins looks at who they're looking to emulate.
The Premier League title is now within touching distance for Liverpool.
After their 1-0 win against Everton, Arne Slot’s side have maintained their 12-point lead at the top of the table, and have just eight matches to navigate before they secure their second Premier League title, and record-equalling 20th English top-flight title.

When they travel to Fulham this weekend, another record will be on the line.
With their only league defeat this season coming at Anfield against Nottingham Forest, Liverpool remain unbeaten on the road in 2024/25 in the Premier League. Their away record so far stands at 10 wins and five draws from 15 matches.
If they avoid defeat in their final four trips – to Fulham, Leicester City, Chelsea, and Brighton & Hove Albion – they will become only the fifth team in English top-flight history to go an entire season unbeaten away from home.

Here’s a look at the teams that have achieved the impressive feat before.
Manchester United – 2020/21
It might come as a surprise to see a recent Manchester United side on this list, but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s 2020/21 team produced one of the club’s best seasons in the post-Alex Ferguson era.
Man Utd finished second in the Premier League, their joint-best finish since 2013, and reached the UEFA Europa League final, where they lost on penalties to Villarreal.
But something often forgotten about in that campaign was the fact that United went the whole season unbeaten away from home in the league, winning 12 and drawing seven of their 19 road matches.
Solskjaer’s team were the first side to achieve that feat in 17 years.
What’s more, Man Utd also set the record for the longest unbeaten away run in Premier League history during this campaign, going 29 matches without defeat between February 2020 and September 2021.
That surpassed Arsenal’s previous record of 27 matches, set between April 2003 and September 2004.
At multiple points during the season it looked as though their away record would come to an end, but United showed great resilience throughout the campaign.
The Red Devils won 31 points from losing positions in 2020/21; only Newcastle United, with 34 points in 2001/02, have ever managed more in a single Premier League campaign.
A remarkable 28 of those points were won away from home, which is by far the highest tally in Premier League history.

One of the most memorable moments of the campaign came on the south coast, when Bruno Fernandes scored a penalty after the full-time whistle had blown against Brighton following a VAR intervention. Clocked in at 99 mins 45 secs, his goal remains one of the latest-ever scored in the Premier League.
Arsenal – 2003/04
Given that this was the season of the Invincibles, it’s no surprise that Arsenal went unbeaten away from home in the Premier League in 2003/04, winning 11 and drawing eight of their 19 road matches.
Arsenal remain the only side to ever go unbeaten both home and away in the Premier League era, and the second side to go an entire league season unbeaten in the English top flight after Preston in 1888/89, more on them later.
Thierry Henry was unstoppable in 2003/04.
A star-studded cast including players such as Patrick Vieira, Robert Pires and Dennis Bergkamp played merely supporting roles as Henry powered his team to the title with four games to spare. The French forward's 30 goals that season was his best haul in a single Premier League campaign.
Arsenal’s streak stretched into the following season. They went nine matches unbeaten at the start of 2004/05 before finally losing 2-0 to Man Utd in the infamous Battle of the Buffet. Their overall 49-game unbeaten run remains the longest in English top-flight history.
Arsenal – 2001/02
Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal had already achieved away-day dominance before the Invincibles.
In the 2001/02 season, they became the first team in Premier League history to go an entire campaign unbeaten away from home, winning 14 and drawing five.
That season also saw Arsenal set another record. They became the first – and so far, only – side to score in every single game in a Premier League campaign.
Henry won the first of his four Premier League Golden Boots with 24 goals, while Pires provided a league-high 15 assists.
Arsenal won their final 13 matches of the season, which at the time was the longest run in the competition. They extended that winning streak to 14 with a victory on the opening weekend of the 2002/03 season.
That record wasn’t broken until Manchester City won 18 straight matches between August and December 2017, a feat later matched by Liverpool between October 2019 and February 2020.
Preston North End – 1888/89
The original Invincibles, Preston North End, went the entire 1888/89 Football League season unbeaten.
While the league only contained 12 teams, meaning they played just 11 away games, they were utterly dominant, finishing 11 points clear at the top. That’s a huge margin in an era where only two points were awarded for a win.
Preston scored 74 goals and conceded only 15 in their 22 matches. Their average goal difference of +2.7 per game remains the best in English top-flight history.
