Teenage defender Harry Amass became the latest Manchester United academy graduate to make his full Premier League debut when he was named in the starting XI for Sunday's trip to Newcastle United which ended in a 4-1 defeat.
Amass, who turned 18 last month, was a surprise inclusion in Ruben Amorim's side at St James' Park having played only 20 minutes of top-flight football in his career and lined up in midfield despite being a full-back.
He is the third academy graduate to make his full Man Utd debut this season, the 19th since August 2020 and 253rd in the club's history, joining the likes of Sir Bobby Charlton, David Beckham, Paul Scholes and Marcus Rashford to have progressed through the ranks to the first-team.

Who is Harry Amass?
Born in London, Amass arrived at Old Trafford on 1 July 2023 after starting his career at Watford.
He was a regular for United's Under-18s and Under-21s last season, and was an unused substitute for their Premier League matches against Liverpool and AFC Bournemouth in April 2024.
Amass was also named in the Reds' squad for the FA Cup semi-final win against Coventry at Wembley Stadium.
Capped by England at Under-17 level, he was heavily involved in United's 2024 pre-season friendlies, starting all three matches of their US tour, where he assisted Amad's goal during a 3-2 win over Real Betis in San Diego.
Amass got his first taste of Premier League action two days after his 18th birthday when, on 16 March, he replaced Alejandro Garnacho for the final 20 minutes of Man Utd's 3-0 win at Leicester City.
Speaking after his debut, Amass said: “It’s an incredible experience. I’m just proud at the moment and I think my family will be proud of me, everyone watching at home. I’m just grateful for the opportunity and hopefully there’s many more to come.
“It all just fell on the right day, with the 18th birthday, so it’s not a bad one, is it?
“When I found out I was very excited. I was warming up down there and got the nod and that’s when it was real.”
What type of player is he?
Amass is a tough-tackling defender, who has a composure on the ball that belies his age. He has good technical qualities and an eye for an incisive forward pass.
When could he feature next?
Man Utd are back in UEFA Europa League action on Thursday when they host Lyon in their quarter-final second-leg at Old Trafford, having drawn the first leg 2-2.
Following that match, they have a home fixture against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday 20 April.
