Middlesbrough went clear at the top of the Division 2 table as they kept up their perfect record and ended Blackburn Rovers' 100% start with a 3-1 win at Ewood Park.
Joe Rankin-Costello gave Blackburn an early lead from a Lewis Travis cross, but Boro's Luke Armstrong equalised just past the half-hour mark when he drove home a loose ball.
A moment of brilliance from George Miller gave Middlesbrough a 51st-minute lead as he hit a dipping volley over goalkeeper Andy Fisher from 25 yards.
Lewis Wing confirmed their fourth successive victory from close range in stoppage time and there was still time for Blackburn's Joe Grayson to be sent off.
Blackburn drop to third in Division 2 on goal difference and next face Norwich City at Carrow Road on Sunday 17 September. Middlesbrough host second-placed Aston Villa at Heritage Park on Friday.
