Mesut Ozil will miss Arsenal's home encounter with Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday.

The German playmaker has not started a match since the north Londoners' 3-0 home win over AFC Bournemouth on 9 September, and although he came on as an 83rd-minute substitute against West Bromwich Albion on Monday, Arsene Wenger has confirmed Ozil will miss the midday encounter at Emirates Stadium.

"Mesut Ozil will not be available for Sunday," the Gunners manager told Arsenal's official website. "Very short-term. He is not far but he is not enough for Sunday."

There are also doubts over the availability of Laurent Koscielny and Alex Iwobi.
