Bassala Sambou scored one goal and made another as Everton recorded their third straight victory with a 2-1 defeat of Chelsea at Southport.
The striker flicked on Matthew Foulds' left-wing cross for Fraser Hornby to give the Toffees an early lead but Daishawn Redan equalised on the half-hour mark from a Reece James centre.
Everton were not to be denied, however, and Sambou scored the 60th minute winner with a low shot.
The result leaves the Toffees fourth in the Division 1 table, seven points adrift of leaders Liverpool, while Chelsea drop to eighth, five points clear of the relegation places.
