With Gameweek 34 confirmed as the next Double Gameweek, Fantasy Premier League managers should act now to prepare their squads. The Scout reviews the options in each position.
Midfielders
Riyad Mahrez (LEI) £8.8m
The Algerian has delivered a goal or an assist in 11 of his last 13 starts to become one of the most consistent players in Fantasy.
Seemingly assured of starts for Leicester City, Mahrez will face Burnley away and Southampton at home in Gameweek 34.
Favourable fixtures at Brighton & Hove Albion and at home to Newcastle United are up next.
If you add a second Double Gameweek for Leicester, which is yet to be confirmed but could fall in Gameweek 37, Mahrez looks to be a near essential signing for those managers with or without their Wildcard chip to play.
Willian (CHE) £7.0m
The Chelsea midfielder's form and cheaper price than Eden Hazard (£10.6m) make him a convincing pick.
The Brazilian has recorded four goals and three assists from his last six starts. That includes a 33-minute appearance at Watford, when he was withdrawn early after the dismissal of Tiemoue Bakayoko (£4.9m).
Over the last three Gameweeks, Willian has fired 10 shots on goal compared with just three from Hazard.
Pascal Gross (BHA) £6.0m
One of the most influential midfielders in the Premier League, Gross has scored or assisted 46 per cent of Brighton's goals when on the pitch.
He is set to be a key figure over the Seagulls’ next four matches. These include three home fixtures, against Leicester, Huddersfield Town and Tottenham Hotspur, along with a trip to Crystal Palace.
With a second Double Gameweek to come, Gross's ownership is back on the rise and is set to surpass the 1.2million managers who had him early in the campaign.
Johann Berg Gudmundsson (BUR) £5.1m
Like Gross, the Burnley winger can be a handy cut-price recruit to help fund big-money signings elsewhere.
But Gudmundsson justifies his selection on merit alone, having produced a goal or an assist in three of his last five Gameweeks.
The Icelander ranks top for chances created for Burnley, with 49. Only striker Ashley Barnes (£5.3m), with 49 shots, has fired more than Gudmundsson's 45.
