Swansea City have signed Australian goalkeeper Mark Birighitti on a free transfer.
The 25-year-old has joined from A-League side Newcastle Jets on a two-year contract.
Birighitti was named in the A-League's 2015/16 team of the season and becomes the fourth goalkeeper on the books at Swansea, after Lukasz Fabianski, Kristoffer Nordfeldt and Gerhard Tremmel.
He is undaunted by the competition for the No 1 spot at the Liberty Stadium.
"As a young footballer growing up you dream of playing in big leagues around the world such as the Premier League, which is the best in the world," he told Swansea's website.
"Before coming here I knew there would be strong competition at the club. Kristoffer is a very good goalkeeper and Gerhard is too.
"But my plan is to take each training session as they come and try to be better than them. I have to make sure when the opportunity comes that I take the opportunity with both hands and don't look back."
Birighitti is the fourth summer signing made by Francesco Guidolin, the Swansea head coach, after Leroy Fer, Mike van der Hoorn and Tyler Reid.
His one cap for Australia came in 2013, but his form for Newcastle earned him a recall to the national team squad for the recent friendlies with England and Greece.
After two friendly victories in the United States, Swansea are next in pre-season action away to Bristol Rovers on 23 July as they prepare for their first Premier League match of the 2016/17 season, at Burnley on 13 August.
