Liverpool have completed the signing of Augsburg defender Ragnar Klavan.
The 30-year-old Estonia captain moves for an undisclosed fee and on a long-term contract.
The three-time Estonian Footballer of the Year is Liverpool's fourth signing of the summer, after Sadio Mane and fellow Bundesliga recruits Loris Karius and Joel Matip.
“I’m really honoured to be part of this amazing club, this amazing team," Klavan told liverpoolfc.com. “It’s hard to put it into words, because it’s been a dream of mine for 22 years to come to the Premier League and be a part of this amazing club, Liverpool.
“The Premier League is the most attractive league in the world and you always have amazing players here. This is the home of football.”
A 1.90-metre centre-back, Klavan made 31 league appearances for Augsburg in 2015/16, helping the side to a 12th-place finish and was part of the team who were knocked out of the UEFA Europa League by Klopp's Liverpool in February.
Liverpool play their next 2016/17 pre-season friendly at Huddersfield Town today. Their first fixture of the new Premier League campaign is a trip to Arsenal on Sunday 14 August.
Should Klavan feature at Emirates Stadium he will become only the second Estonian to feature in the Premier League, after former Derby County, Sunderland and Arsenal goalkeeper Mart Poom.
