A late flurry of goals, with one from Nwankwo Kanu and two from Dennis Bergkamp, helped Arsenal past Sheffield Wednesday.
All three goals came in the last seven minutes at Highbury as Arsenal maintained their title hopes.
The win left Arsenal second on 53 points, four points behind Manchester United. The defeat meant Sheffield Wednesday were mid-table 35 points.
2013: Queens Park Rangers 3-1 Sunderland
Late strikes from Andros Townsend and Jermaine Jenas gave bottom club Queens Park Rangers a second consecutive win to boost their bid for safety.
Sunderland took the lead through Steven Fletcher but QPR’s Loic Remy equalised when he slotted past Simon Mignolet.
Townsend’s 22-yard strike and a late goal from Jenas sealed the points and added to Sunderland’s own relegation fears.
Despite the win, QPR remained bottom on 23 points, four points from safety.
The defeat kept Sunderland on 30 points, six points off 18th-placed Wigan Athletic.
