1992: First live televised Premier League goal
Teddy Sheringham scored the Premier League’s first live televised goal as Nottingham Forest beat Liverpool 1-0.
Cutting inside from the left flank in the 29th minute, the striker fired into the top corner to give Forest a winning start to their campaign.
Sheringham moved to Tottenham Hotspur later that month and scored 21 PL goals in his first season at White Hart Lane, winning the Golden Boot.
2010: Manchester United 3-0 Newcastle United
Manchester United secured a commanding home win over promoted Newcastle United in their opening fixture.
Goals from Dimitar Berbatov and Darren Fletcher gave the hosts a comfortable 2-0 lead at the break, and Ryan Giggs then struck five minutes from time.
Man United found themselves fourth on goal difference after the first round of matches, with Newcastle 17th.
