West Ham United have signed 21-year-old centre-back Issa Diop from Toulouse for a club record undisclosed fee.
The France Under-23 captain has signed a five-year deal.
"I am a very ambitious player and West Ham is a very ambitious club, as we've seen with the appointment of the new coach," he told the club's official website.
"I hope to help the team win lots of games and make the fans happy."
Diop, who came through Toulouse's academy, made 39 appearances for the French Ligue 1 side in all competitions last season.
He is Manuel Pellegrini's second signing for West Ham this summer, after Ryan Fredericks joined from Fulham on a free transfer.
