Managers in Fantasy Premier League have reacted quickly to Sergio Aguero's (£11.0m) two goals in Manchester City's FA Community Shield victory over Chelsea.
The Argentinian went into Sunday's match having been included in about 13 per cent of squads.
That figure has risen to 19.4 per cent ahead of Gameweek 1's 19:00 BST deadline on Friday, 10 August.
The statistics show why. Aguero fired seven of City's 18 shots on goal at Wembley, recording four of their eight efforts on target.
Enticing fixtures
The champions' opening batch of opponents only adds to his appeal in Fantasy.
Five of City's first seven matches score only two in the Fixture Difficulty Ranking (FDR).
Bernardo Silva (£7.5m) and Benjamin Mendy (£6.0m) can also be big factors in opening FPL squads.
Silva supplied the assist for Aguero's second and was the only attacking midfielder to play the full 90 minutes for City.
He looks set to start the season on Pep Guardiola's teamsheet, with Kevin De Bruyne (£10.0m) and Raheem Sterling (£11.0m) late back for pre-season due to the FIFA World Cup.
Mendy impressed in his first domestic start since Gameweek 6 last season after months sidelined with a knee injury.
On the defensive
As for Chelsea, their change of tactics under new head coach Maurizio Sarri had an immediate impact on two of the most popular defenders in FPL.
Cesar Azpilicueta (£6.5m) and Marcos Alonso (£6.5m) are among the five most-owned defenders.
They profited from a wing-back system under Antonio Conte, but both took up new roles as full-backs in Sarri's preferred 4-3-3 formation.
Callum Hudson-Odoi (£4.5m) could be one to watch under Sarri, having started all four of Chelsea’s summer friendlies on the left of the front three.
The 17-year-old fired two shots on goal against City, more than any team-mate.
This suggests he could offer a cut-price option in midfield for Chelsea's Gameweek 1 trip to Huddersfield Town, although Pedro (£6.5m) and Willian (£7.5m) will also be in contention for starts.
