Mark Bright and Viv Anderson struck first-half goals as Sheffield Wednesday beat Tottenham Hotspur at home.
Bright gave the Owls a sixth-minute lead, and Anderson doubled the advantage just after the half-hour mark.
Sheffield Wednesday climbed to 12th with 12 points, while Spurs dropped to 17th with 10 points, leaving them one point above the relegation zone.
2009: Sunderland 5-2 Wolverhampton Wanderers
Sunderland remained just three points off a top four place after winning a seven-goal thriller at home to Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Penalties from Darren Bent and Kenwyne Jones gave the Black Cats a 2-0 lead after 48 minutes.
Wolves were level seven minutes later after an own goal from John Mensah and a Kevin Doyle equaliser.
But Jones put the hosts back in front and Michael Turner made it 4-2 moments later, while Michael Mancienne put the ball into his own net late on.
Sunderland stayed eighth with 12 points, while Wolves dropped to 16th, three points outside the relegation zone.
