More Premier League records are in danger after Sergio Aguero signed a contract extension that will keep him at Manchester City until June 2021.
"I am happy for this additional year," Aguero told CityTV. "My idea was being here for 10 years. I’ve been here for seven years, it's going to be 10 when the contract expires.
"Hopefully, that's going to happen. This was the main reason I signed."
Top foreign goalscorer
One mark that is now within his sights is that of the Premier League's leading all-time foreign goalscorer.
Aguero has scored 146 PL goals, 29 behind Thierry Henry's total of 175, and he could surpass the Arsenal legend next season if he maintains his usual scoring rate.
The Argentinian is already ahead of Henry for the best minutes-per-goal ratio in the league's history.
His 146 goals have come at an average of a goal every 108 minutes, ahead of the Frenchman's 121.8 minutes.
But Aguero has fallen narrowly behind Mohamed Salah, with Harry Kane and City team-mate Gabriel Jesus not far behind.

Aguero's next hat-trick will send him top of the list of players to have scored the most hat-tricks for one club.
He is level with Alan Shearer, who scored nine hat-tricks for Blackburn Rovers.
The City striker is only two behind the league's all-time top scorer for total hat-tricks overall and joint second with Robbie Fowler, who also scored nine overall.

Aguero has 14 goals in 13 matches against Newcastle United but this lies six behind the total that Shearer racked up against Leeds United.

One element of his Premier League career that falls short of a number of forwards is that Aguero has failed to score on all seven days of the week in the competition.
Despite playing twice on a Thursday, Aguero has not got on the scoresheet, while he has yet to feature on a Friday.
This year's Christmas schedule and were Man City selected for a Friday night match might allow Aguero to join the 25 players who have scored on all seven days of the week.
