Wilfried Zaha’s superb strike earned a 1-1 draw for Crystal Palace against Brighton & Hove Albion at Selhurst Park.
The visitors began brightly, with Aaron Mooy’s powerful shot flying wide on six minutes before Martin Montoya had an effort well saved by Eagles goalkeeper Vicente Guaita.
Roy Hodgson’s men almost took the lead six minutes after half-time when Christian Benteke’s attempted cross hit a post.
But Brighton went ahead on 54 minutes when a volleyed cross by Leandro Trossard found its way, via a Pascal Gross flick, to Neal Maupay, who fired the ball into the roof of the net.
The hosts levelled when Zaha smashed a shot into the top corner with 14 minutes left.
Palace climbed into ninth place on 23 points after denying Brighton, in 13th on 20 points, the win they needed to move above the Eagles.
