Two goals in the last three minutes from Callum Wilson and Joelinton snatched three points for Newcastle United at Selhurst Park as Steve Bruce's side climbed into the top half of the Premier League table.
Defences were on top for much of the night with Joelinton threatening for the visitors in the first half with a shot over the bar, and another effort straight at Vicente Guaita just before the break.
Cheikhou Kouyate headed over as the hosts sought a breakthrough, before Matt Ritchie smashed a free-kick straight at Guaita for Newcastle with 11 minutes left.
In a frantic finale substitute Christian Benteke drew a good save from Karl Darlow and Patrick van Aanholt flashed a cross-shot across the six-yard box.
But Newcastle took the lead on 88 minutes when Joelinton released Wilson to tuck a smart finish beyond Guaita.
A minute later, Joelinton doubled the advantage with a deflected effort off Gary Cahill.
Crystal Palace slip to 13th, with 13 points, while Newcastle leapfrog them into 10th with 14.
