A stoppage-time goal by Joe Willock secured Newcastle United a 1-1 draw at Liverpool that hit the champions' hopes of a top-four finish.
Mohamed Salah fired Liverpool in front after only three minutes and the hosts went on to dominate the first half, with Sadio Mane, Diogo Jota and Salah all wasting chances to extend their lead.
Joelinton was denied by Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson on 55 minutes while Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold missed further opportunities for the Reds.
Newcastle substitute Callum Wilson had a goal overturned in stoppage time following a VAR review for handball by him.
But moments later, Willock struck from the bench for the second match in a row, after netting the winner versus West Ham United last weekend.
A fourth match without defeat leaves 15th-placed Newcastle nine points clear of the bottom three.
Liverpool climb to sixth on 54 points, one behind Chelsea and West Ham, who play later in the day.
