CLAP HAPPY - Rodgers encourages his Foxes
Brendan Rodgers, Leicester

Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers:

"It was a very important win for us. Going behind against one of Roy's teams is always going to be tough to break them down, but at half-time we reiterated the importance of being patient and keeping the pace in our game. The players were outstanding, the first goal settled us and we were in control after that. Kelechi's goal was wonderful, and it capped off a great night for him"

Premier League pundit Emile Heskey:

"It feels a bit like when Leicester won the league – people expecting them to fall away but they keep plugging away and get them over the line. We call it winning ugly – it wasn't great today but it's about getting the win."

Leicester goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel:

"Every day since Kelechi has come in he's worked so hard, he does all those things in training, he just needed that little bit of luck or that goal to go in for him to give him that confidence, that belief and now you can see his partnership, his link-up work with Vards, it’s a formidable front two. I’m delighted for him and proud of him; he's got everything to be a top striker"

MATCH WINNER - Iheanacho settles it for Leicester
Leicester City v Crystal Palace - Premier League

Premier League pundit Emile Heskey:

"Palace got at Leicester, they frustrated them and the work-rate was very high. I'm a bit disappointed Bathshuayi didn't come on when they were 2-1 down, I think it's a bit strange not to bring on a proven goalscorer when you're behind, but they gave Leicester a tough game. They gave a good account of themselves."

Palace manager Roy Hodgson:

"Every goal that's scored you can be a little bit disappointed on one of two things you didn't do. Over the 90 minutes we defended well, the shape was good and the work-rate was good, and when we had the ball we looked like we were trying to do things with it. The second goal is an incredible piece of play and that shows you the form Leicester are in at the moment"

STAT - A quality season

Leicester have picked up 62 points from their 33 Premier League games this season, only managing more at this stage of a top-flight campaign in 1962-63 (66) and 2015-16 (72).

Hubert Mbuya emails matchdaylive@premierleague.com:

"Iheanacho saved me from a crazy battle in a private league, bravo"

TOP CORNER - Castagne nets the leveller
Leicester City 2-1 Crystal Palace

The Scout:

"Castagne has produced 9 points or more in each of his last 2 matches for the first time since GW2. Five of his 6 attacking returns this season have come across the first 2 matches of 2020/21 and the two most recent."

Premier League pundit Clinton Morrison:

"Iheanacho was outstanding. He made the first goal for Castagne and his goal was fantastic – it needed to be to beat Guaita. I'm so pleased for him because he's worked so hard to force his way into this team, and he's Leicester's main man at the moment."

Leicester match-winner Kelechi Iheanacho:

"It is so big, it's a massive three points. In the second half we change it up, we get control of the game and get running and the space kept coming, then we got the goal. We didn't start quite well, I think it was a sloppy goal. It will give us a massive boost for the next game"

Massive for the Foxes:
BONUS POINTS AS IT STANDS

3 - Iheanacho
2 - Eze
1 - Castagne

Premier League pundit Emile Heskey:

"It was a huge win for Leicester. They needed it to keep the pressure on, and it was massive they got it. They came out in the second half, 1-0 down, needed to get something going – and Iheanacho was the man to do it."

STAT - Hot streak

Kelechi Iheanacho has netted 14 goals in his last 14 appearances for Leicester in all competitions, as many as he managed in his previous 76 for the Foxes

KELECHI CONGRATULATED - Foxes praise their match-winner
Leicester City v Crystal Palace - Premier League

FULL-TIME Leicester 2-1 Palace

The Foxes come from behind to claim all three points against the Eagles. Wilfried Zaha scored the opener as the visitors carried their lead into the break. Timothy Castagne levelled five minutes after the restart and Kelechi Iheanacho won it ten minutes from time. Leicester are now seven points clear of fifth place.

Leicester 2-1 Palace (90+2 mins)

That would have wrapped it up for Leicester. Jamie Vardy breaks free and squares to ball across to Kelechi Iheanacho. When faced with a defender he knocks the ball to Ayoze Perez to his left. Perez can't manage to make it three as his effort from inside the area is saved by Vincente Guaita. We've got four minutes of additional time.

Both on fire!
Leicester 2-1 Palace (89 mins)

Christian Benteke gets his head on an Eberechi Eze free-kick from deep but can't manage to flick his headed effort on target. You feel there won't be too many more chances for a leveller for the visiting side.

KELECHI CRACKER - What a hit from Iheanacho
Premier League - Leicester City v Crystal Palace

SUBS Leicester 2-1 Palace (85 mins)

Palace make a couple of change as James McCarthy and Jeffrey Schlupp come on to take the place of Luka Milivojevic and Jairo Riedewald. The visitors had also made a change just before the goal with Andros Townsend replacing Jordan Ayew.

Premier League pundit Matthew Upson:

"That is a fantastic goal from Iheanacho. Talk about making something happen out of nothing – he's got players around him but the touch, the poise is top drawer. It's a real snapshot with his left foot and the power is incredible. It's a brilliant strike."

GOAL! Leicester 2-1 Palace (IHEANACHO, 80 mins)

Ten minutes from time and who else but the man in-form Kelechi Iheanacho pops up with a beautiful goal. He's played into the area by Jonny Evans down the right and nearly breaks the net with a ferocious shot. Leicester lead with just ten minutes remaining.

PEREZ PUSHING - Sub trying to get involved
Premier League - Leicester City v Crystal Palace

Leicester 1-1 Palace (79 mins)

Brilliant play between the two Leicester front-men. Jamie Vardy lays the ball to Kelechi Iheanacho who returns the favour playing Vardy into the area. He rides a challenge but from a tight angle can't manage to roll the ball into the back of the net.

Leicester 1-1 Palace (77 mins)

Jairo Riedewald is penalised for a foul about 30 yards out. With no James Maddison on the pitch Youri Tielemans is the man on set-pieces. His cross towards the back-post is headed behind for a corner. Tielemans' first corner is a good one but his second delivery is poor and Palace clear.

IHEANACHO ATTEMPT - Foxes forward has shot charged down
Leicester City v Crystal Palace - Premier League

Premier League pundit Matthew Upson:

"On control of play Leicester deserve to be in this game and perhaps even winning it. On chances, Crystal Palace should be 2-1 up – they've had two great chances, one of which they've taken."

Leicester 1-1 Palace (72 mins)

Brendan Rodgers makes a double change. Luke Thomas and James Maddison are withdrawn with Marc Albrighton and Ayoze Perez coming on to take their place.

Leicester 1-1 Palace (69 mins)

Another good chance for Palace. Eberechi Eze delivers a corner from the left and manages to pick out Christian Benteke. The Belgian meets to ball well six-yards out but his header is straight at Kasper Schmeichel.

At the other end Jamie Vardy has the ball in the net but the flag goes up instantly and the goal does not stand.

Been so important the last few weeks:
Leicester 1-1 Palace (67 mins)

The hosts have continued to dominate possession. They're managing to get more shots away than they were in the first half but will be looking to create a couple more clearer sights of goal.

Leicester 1-1 Palace (65 mins)

Lovely play from Jamie Vardy coming in from the left. He manages to jink his way into the area past Cheikou Kouyate and gets his shot away. The angle is against him and Vincente Guaita pounces on the ball.

EVANS SENT - What a tackle from Leicester defender
Leicester City v Crystal Palace - Premier League

Leicester 1-1 Palace (61 mins)

James Maddison picks up the ball and decides to test Vincente Guaita from range. The Palace 'keeper gets down to his left and prevents Maddison's shot from creeping into the bottom corner.

Premier League pundit Matthew Upson:

"Well played Jonny Evans, he never gives it up, but I cannot understand why Riedewald doesn't take this on himself. Yes it's unselfish but I don't know why he complicates matters – just slot it in the corner. He doesn't have the confidence to finish it. Evans does really well though, it's a brilliant recovery tackle."

Never gave it up!
Leicester 1-1 Palace (56 mins)

What a golden chance this is for Palace. Jairo Riedewald is played through on goal and is completely free. When he gets inside the penalty area he decides to try to play in Christian Benteke on his right but Jonny Evans comes flying in and steals the ball off Benteke's foot. Bizarre that the Palace man decided not to shoot himself with only Kasper Schmeichel to beat.

CASTAGNE CONVERTS - Belgian brings Leicester level
Premier League - Leicester City v Crystal Palace

Premier League pundit Matthew Upson:

"You have to feel for Kouyate, it's a fortunate break for Iheanacho as he controls the ball. It's a decent ball from Tielemans but Crystal Palace felt they had it under control. But then Iheanacho does really well, to set it up for Castagne and it's a powerful finish into the top corner."

GOAL! Leicester 1-1 Palace (CASTAGENE, 50 mins)

Leicester are level after just five minutes of the second half. It's a fantastic finish from Timothy Castagne who belts it into the top left corner from a few yards out after being played in by Kelechi Iheanacho.

The visitors will have to be disciplined:
Premier League pundit Emile Heskey:

"The next 45 minutes is massive for Leicester. They'll be looking at the next three games and knowing this is a game they have to take points from. This is a must-win for them, and Brendan Rodgers will have been reiterating that in the dressing room. For Palace it's more of the same – they've been fantastic, nullifying the threats."
