Late Spurs goals break Leicester's hearts

Tottenham Hotspur scored three times in the final 15 minutes to come from behind and beat Leicester City, securing their own European qualification while denying their hosts a place in the UEFA Champions League.

With their late turnaround, Spurs secured a seventh-place finish and a spot in the inaugural UEFA Europa Conference League, while Leicester's defeat left them one point outside the top four.

Leicester's Jamie Vardy opened the scoring in the 18th minute from the penalty spot after he was adjudged to have been fouled by Toby Alderweireld following a VAR review.

But Spurs equalised before the break, with Harry Kane volleying in to earn his third Golden Boot award, finishing one ahead of Liverpool's Mohamed Salah on 23 goals.

Vardy put Leicester back in front seven minutes into the second half, netting his second penalty after being fouled by Davinson Sanchez.

However, Spurs got a 76th-minute equaliser as Kasper Schmeichel punched Son Heung-min's corner into his own net, and the north Londoners went on to win.

Substitute Gareth Bale stroked in from Kane's pass in the 87th minute, with Kane securing the Playmaker award for the most Premier League assists in the process, before Bale tapped in his second in stoppage time.

Leicester end the season in fifth on 66 points, four points ahead of Spurs.
