Brentford shone in the pouring rain in west London as they beat slumping Burnley 3-0 at the Gtech Community Stadium to end a winless streak of six matches.
The Bees came charging out of the blocks, Neil Maupay and Bryan Mbeumo both going close.
In the 25th minute the breakthrough came as Mbeumo fed Yoane Wissa at the far post to score with ease.
A piece of Mbeumo magic doubled the lead in the 62nd minute. A well-worked move resulted in the ball being laid off to the 24-year-old, who struck a glorious curling effort into the top left corner.
Half-time substitute Luca Koleosho had a golden opportunity to halve the deficit, but could not sort out his feet and missed from close range.
Burnley’s hopes of a comeback were hit when Connor Roberts was dismissed for a second yellow and the result was put to bed by second-half substitute Saman Ghoddos’ brilliant half-volley in the 87th minute.
Brentford climb to 14th, with 10 points, while Burnley remain 18th with four points.
